Founder Gina Formichelli has spent decades in leadership providing Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy to individuals, children, and families in the community. Her specialties include crisis intervention, women's health, family and youth intervention, and community mental health. She is incredibly proud of raising her amazing stepson Nolan and two sons Giovanni, and Julian, and of course their dog Charlie. She loves to volunteer at her charity of choice, Empower - connecting and supporting youth that have experienced parent loss, and is proud to serve on the Board of Directors and as a cheer coach at her local youth cheerleading and football program. Gina is also an ordained non-denominational minister and can perform weddings and provide support for all couples, because LOVE IS LOVE🌈. Gina finds her peace on the ocean, with her family, and with her incredible friends she calls family.
Gina has decades of clinical and Executive leadership experience working in both for-profit and non-profit clinical and non-therapeutic settings throughout Greater Boston. Time and again, she has witnessed one major barrier to excellent mental health care - therapist turnover. Gina explains; “When your best therapists are experiencing burnout due to unrealistic productivity expectations, lack of support, and unfair compensation, they will leave their jobs suddenly and disillusioned. This leads to clients that were counting on them to feel abandoned and mistrustful of the clinical process. I always knew there was a better way.”
Gina created Insight Counseling & Wellness in 2015 with a deeply rooted philosophy that our staff should have the tools and support they need to provide the best possible care for our clients. Each clinician is vetted carefully and works flexible hours to maintain a healthy and individualized work/life balance, while also meeting the needs of their clients’ schedules and challenges. All staff are W2 employees, are eligible for excellent benefits including healthcare stipend, 401k with a match, tuition reimbursement, extended family medical leave, and make their own flexible schedules.
At ICW our therapists do what they do best - help people, and we take care of the rest. This is why our staff are so good at what they do and retain their career longer at Insight. They are motivated, optimistic, and at the top of their game to provide the best individualized care for each of their clients. We are proud to offer a diverse, talented, and incredibly knowledgeable staff who are here to help you walk through the many challenges our community faces today. This business model has proven successful and we continue to grow every year.
